To begin with, the Bible declares:
“...He giveth his beloved sleep.”
—Psalm 127:2 (KJV)
Peaceful sleep is not merely a biological necessity—it is a gift from God. This article is not written for those kept awake by ordinary anxieties, hardship, or the pressures of life (that is a future article), but rather for those who sense genuine spiritual torment during the night, including but not limited to:
• Repeated dreams of being attacked, chased, or fighting
for survival.
• Disturbing spiritual intimate encounters in dreams or
while awake.
• Persistent sensations of a dark or sinister presence in your home or following
you.
• Unexplained disturbances—loud sounds, bodily oppression, or interference
during sleep. These experiences should not be met with panic, but with spiritual understanding and the authority of Jesus Christ.
The Reality of Spiritual Conflict Scripture teaches there is an unseen conflict.
Revelation 12 reveals a cosmic rebellion: The book of Revelation presents war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon—identified as Satan—was cast down with his fallen angels (Revelation 12:7–9).
This chapter reveals several realities:
1. Fallen spirits are active in the earth.
The enemy is not imaginary. Scripture reveals demonic personalities who oppose God and seek to afflict humanity. The entire biblical account reveals this reality.

2. Satan’s nature is to accuse, deceive, and torment.
He is called:
• The accuser (Rev. 12:10)
• A thief (John 10:10)
• A roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8)
3. His rage has intensified because his time is short.
“...Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for
the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. ” (Rev. 12:12) Certain nighttime oppressions are because of this wrath, which we sometimes call spiritual warfare. The enemy may seek access—but he is not sovereign. Jesus Christ is Lord. The believer can end terror, harassment, or bondage, in Jesus’ name! Terror, harassment, and bondage may have crippled you — but it ends now in Jesus’ name!
Access Points (Open Doors) the Enemy May Exploit There are times when access points/doors may be opened— knowingly or unknowingly. Here are a few areas to consider:
1. Through What We Entertain
What we watch, listen to or meditate upon.
“Neither give place to the devil.”
—Ephesians 4:27
Guard your ears, eyes and mind!
2. Through Spiritually Charged Objects or Gifts
Not everything handed to you is harmless.
Friends, schoolmates, co-workers—even family members—can sometimes introduce things carrying spiritual contamination.

Ask God:
“Lord, reveal if there is anything in my possession that

3. Through Prayerlessness and Spiritual Neglect
Spiritual vulnerability increases when one abandons prayer, the Word, and communion with God. Also unrepented sins, such as unforgiveness, anger, and bitterness can be open doors. (Hebrews 12:15) We observe this throughout the Old Testament, whenever the Israelites disconnected from God, they came under attack. However, if you are connected to God but still feel oppressed, read carefully access points 4 & 5 below.
4. Through previous or current involvement with Darkness
Consulting:
• Obeah
• Black magic
• Divination
• Astrology
• Rituals
• Charms
• Occult practices
Such practices can open unlawful access if you’ve participated or visited such entities.
“Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of
darkness…”

5. Through Generational or Ancestral Entanglements
Some struggles or torments may involve patterns preceding you. (Exodus 20:1–6) But hear the Gospel:
Through Christ every curse can be broken.
Every legal claim can be canceled. Every chain can be severed by His blood. (Galatians 3:13) What Must Be Done to sleep well:
1. Cleanse Your Life and Your Space
Consecrate yourself to God.
Consecrate & cleanse your room.
Consecrate & cleanse your home. Invite the presence of God to abide with you and where you sleep.
Pray:
“Lord, show me if there is anything in my life or in my home that does not honor
You. Reveal it and give me grace to remove it.”
2. Renounce Every Tie to Darkness
Pray:
“In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce every covenant, agreement, legal access,
or attachment to the kingdom of darkness—whether through my actions or through the actions of others. I break every claim by the blood of Jesus.”
3. Command Every Evil Presence to Leave
If you sense a dark presence:
Do not negotiate.
Do not panic.
Command.
“Every unclean spirit troubling me, leave now in the mighty
name of Jesus Christ, and never return.”
Jesus did not debate demons.
He commanded them. And they obeyed.

Start Here
1. Cleanse your life and your space.
2. Ask God to sever every connection between you and the
kingdom of darkness.
3. Stand in the authority of Jesus and command oppression to
leave.
4. Dedicate your sleep, your room, and your home to God.
And declare:
“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord,
only makest me dwell in safety.”
—Psalm 4:8
Final Word Revelation 12 does not merely reveal the rage of satan—it reveals his defeat.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb…”
(Revelation 12:11)
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith,
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) The blood still speaks. The blood still protects. The blood still breaks oppression. That blood still gives God’s beloved sleep.
Prayer:
